TCES and TCHS Named Reward Schools for 2014
The Telfair County School District is honored to announce that both Telfair County Elementary School and Telfair County High School have been named Reward Schools for 2014 by the Georgia Department of Education.  Both TCES and TCHS were named Reward Schools in the Highest-Progress School category.  Highest-Progress Schools are among the top 10 percent of the state’s Title I schools making the most progress in improving the performance of the “all students” group over three years on the statewide assessments.  We would like to congratulate and thank our administrators, faculty members, staff members, and students at all of our schools for their relentless pursuit of excellence.  We would also like to thank all parents, guardians, and community members for their unwavering support of our schools.

  • Teacher and Employee of the Year for 2015

Each year, a Teacher of the Year and an Employee of the Year are chosen for the Telfair County School System. The process begins when principals nominate candidates from their schools. Next, all nominees complete candidate application forms and submit them to the curriculum director. Finally, applications are reviewed by a panel of retired educators and candidates are ranked based on their responses to a series of questions on the application. The panel then selects a teacher and an employee to represent each school, and the Teacher of the Year and Employee of the Year for the system are chosen from the school representatives.
