Each year, a Teacher of the Year and an Employee of the Year are chosen for the Telfair County School System. The process begins when principals nominate candidates from their schools. Next, all nominees complete candidate application forms and submit them to the curriculum director. Finally, applications are reviewed by a panel of retired educators and candidates are ranked based on their responses to a series of questions on the application. The panel then selects a teacher and an employee to represent each school, and the Teacher of the Year and Employee of the Year for the system are chosen from the school representatives. In the spring of 2014, the annual Title I Parent Survey was distributed to all parents in the Telfair County School District. The survey was used to evaluate the Parent Involvement Program at each school. A summary of the survey results was created and used to revise the school Parent Involvement Policy for the 2014-2015 school year.
